Transportation of secondhand windmills:

As part of the increasing global demand for renewable energy, the transportation of windmill parts has increased over the last years. As part of that demand, logistics and freight forwarding companies have had to come with inventive and diverse transport solutions, in order to transport the different parts of a windmill. At Ocean-4 Shipping, we have forwarded windmill parts for many years from Denmark to several countries around the world. In one of the more interesting cases, a customer had to transport windmill parts from Denmark to the US. In order to transport the windmills properly and safe, our dedicated team came up with an inventive solution to the transportation: A specialized container. By welding two 40’ open top containers together, and providing a support frame, the windmill parts were transported to the destination in a much more cost-effective way, than otherwise possible. Before the idea came to reality, a thorough preplan was necessary in order to make the transport a success. Only with our experienced and inventive team, did we succeed to live up to our customer’s expectations for the transport to final destination, and in a cost- effective way.

Transportation of fish feed plants:

Some of our major projects have been the transportation of fish feed plants to the U.S., Norway and Scotland. Handling these major projects we have had focus on the preplanning phase, as these projects typically have has several different phases, many different components and from a large number of subcontractors. The preplanning process especially centered around the different phases of the construction of the fish feed plants, and when the different parts should be delivered at site. Our customer needed to know and trust that we at Ocean4 Shipping could combine the different components in the right way and transport it safely. Thereby securing that the right parts were delivered at the right time to the site, in order to be used immediately in the build of the plant. At the same time, we also needed to have the right parts picked up from our customer’s subcontractors in the right order. As an essential part of this planning, our warehouse facilities became an important hub to ensure this coordination for storage, and if necessary (which became really important), repack the different consignments before transportation from our warehouse to the delivery site.
